Staff left shaken after man brandishing knife barricaded himself in Doncaster shop

Members of staff working at a Doncaster shop have been left feeling shaken, after a man brandishing a knife barricaded himself inside and said he was fleeing from a street brawl.

According to a resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, the man told staff he was being chased and barricaded himself the stockroom and refused to leave.

Police were called, and arrived on the scene at around 5.40pm.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman confirmed that a 23-year-old man has been arrested for assault in relation to the incident.
