Christmas is coming early to Doncaster when historic St Catherine’s House opens its doors for a special festive fayre.
St Catherine’s House, a former hospital headquarters, based just off Tickhill Road, Balby, was built in 1838, and together with the neighbouring Walled Garden Centre, will host a festive feast of fun, games, music and food on Sunday, December 1 from 11am until 4pm.
There will be music from Dodworth Colliery Brass Band and Christmas carols from the South Yorkshire Police Male Voice Choir, as well as Santa on hand to meet the kids in the Walled Garden Christmas grotto as well as a children’s treasure trail in the woodlands surrounding the site.
Mike Rysak, project manager at the Walled Garden, said: “Why not come along and enjoy seeing the historic St Catherine’s House as well as being able to get into the Christmas spirit and buy some festive gifts.”
Stalls selling festive gifts, cards, decorations, Christmas trees and plants will also be on offer.
The Walled Garden provides work experience for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities and is part of Flourish Enterprises, a developing social enterprise which is run by Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).
