Sponsorship boost for Doncaster Hockey Club

Doncaster Hockey Club has received a major sponsorship boost ahead of the new season.

Darren Calow, of DC Training, has pledged to invest £5,000 in the club for the next three years.

Club spokesman Kirk Bellerby told the Free Press: “His son plays in the juniors and he realized he wanted to be involved when he saw how good the atmosphere and team element was when he attended a tournament. His neighbour Alistair West - an ex first team national league player - was the coach that day.

“He is willing to give £5,000 per year as well as putting on events like the recent one at the Regent where he paid for catering and entertainment.

“He is also networking for us to help find other sponsors and has provided hats with logos for all the juniors.

“So all in all we have somebody with Doncaster HC at heart willing to help the community.”
