Special delivery for Haxey midwife

Santa was not the only one delivering Christmas gifts as one lucky NHS worker has won £10,000.

As part of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust’s annual staff SuperDraw lottery, Sarah Foy, a midwife on the central delivery suite at Scunthorpe hospital, has an extra reason to smile.

The married mum-of-four, from Haxey, said: “I received a text from the ward clerk as I was sleeping from my previous night shift. The message seemed urgent so I got in touch straight away only to find out I was the lucky winner. Shocked is an understatement as I never win anything and did not think I would stand a chance with this. I am delighted and still trying to process what I will be spending it on. My four daughters are aged between 10 and 17 so it will be great to treat them and my husband. I will also be treating my colleagues in the delivery suite with some extra Christmas goodies.”

The Trust also runs a monthly staff SuperDraw lottery scheme, with a grand prize currently standing at £2,000.
