Special constables gave up 21,738 hours to help police Doncaster

Special constables in Doncaster gave up 21,738 hours of their time to help police the town last year.

South Yorkshire Police specials have the same powers as regular officers; wear the same uniform and are issued with the same protective equipment, including handcuffs and batons.

An information evening is to be held at Barnsley College’s University Campus, Church Street, at 6pm on Tuesday, February 16.
