South Yorkshire fire round-up: Baby rescued from locked car

Firefighters were called out to tackle the following incidents across the region last night (February 6) and in the early hours of this morning (February 7)

Firefighters from Central Station in Sheffield rescued a one-month-old baby girl from a locked car at 7.30pm last night.

The car had been locked and the keys lefts inside the vehicle in Sharrow Vale Road,.

Firefighters broke a glass window to gain access and free the child.

The baby was unharmed.

Arsonists targeted a post box in Queen Lane, Netherhall, Rotherham.

Firefighters from Rotherham attended and were on the scene for around half an hour.

The cause has been logged as deliberate.
