South Yorkshire charity appeals for donations

South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord is celebrating its 15th birthday by asking friends and supporters for a special gift.

The charity provides music sessions for people with dementia in care homes and day centres region-wide.

Using professional and fully trained musicians and singers, Lost Chord demonstrates the way in which music can reach out and touch the lives of people with dementia.

But, to keep going, it needs to raise more money than ever before. Now Chief Executive Helena Muller is asking supporters to sign up and make a regular monthly donation of £6 per month.

“Having provided a programme of events in Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster for 15 years, and demonstrated consistently just what the power of god music can mean for people living with dementia, we are determined to continue for another 15 years at least,” said Helena.

“We already have supporters carrying out regular events throughout the year but we need to guarantee a regular income if our work is to survive.

“Just £6 per month is much less than the price of three cups of coffee – and if you are tax payer you can Gift Aid that donation too.”
