South Yorkshire airport launches fund to help communities

Doncaster Sheffield Airport has launched a Community Investment Fund to help local projects.

The airport has set aside £5,000 and is inviting community projects and organisations across South Yorkshire to bid for money to help them improve their communities.

Kellie Naylor, environment and community officer for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are delighted to be launching Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s 2016 Community Investment Fund.

“In previous years we’ve assisted many groups ranging from community centres needing new disabled access to tree planning schemes and training for scout groups.

“The main aim of the fund is to help to improve the local environment and community that the airport serves.

“We hope to hear from organisations who are looking for small pots of money to help them to make a difference this year.”
