Some buses return to Doncaster roads after all routes were suspended

Some of Doncaster’s buses were this evening starting to return to the roads after all routes were suspended earlier this afternoon.

It is understood one of the vehicles on the number 55 route was the first to start up again, shortly before 5pm, with a number 81 also on the move, but that some changes would be made to the exact routes to allow them to avoid difficult sections of the roads.

One passenger on the first bus from the interchange said he had been told there would be some slight changes to the routes.

He added he hasd seen a number of crashed cars on the route, including a damaged vehicle on Bawtry Road, near Doncaster Racecourse.

Stagecoach Yorkshire tweeted: “We are currently testing a few key routes to see if we can get things moving again so you might start to see a few buses heading back onto the road.”

Meanwhile, disruption caused by signalling fault between Adwick and Doncaster has now ended.
