Snow wardens needed in Doncaster

DONCASTER Council is looking for volunteer snow wardens to help communities during any harsh weather conditions this winter.

The authority has stockpiles of salt and plans for precautionary salting and snow clearing for the busiest roads and footpaths.

As part of the ‘Get ready for winter’ campaign, volunteers are needed to become ‘snow wardens’ to help out in those harder to reach areas.

Snow wardens will be given equipment such as a high-visibility jacket, shovel, and gloves. They ey will also be asked to attend a safety induction session.

Doncaster Mayor Peter Davies, said: “In the event of any severe weather the council’s top priority has to be clearing major routes and keeping the local economy going.”

Anyone interested can register on 01302 736000 by 18 November.
