Six injured in spate of crashes in day of chaos on Doncaster’s roads

Motorists have faced traffic chaos across the borough today after four major crashes in less than 24 hours.

Four people were taken to hospital and two others injured after the incidents in Doncaster.

One of Doncaster’s busiest roads, Thorne Road, was closed for two hours after a two-car crash at 9.20am.

Two people were taken to hospital with neck and back injuries following the accident at the junction of Zetland Road and Norborough Road.

Just half an hour later police were called to Shaftesbury Avenue, Intake, after a collision between a Honda motorcycle and a Ford Focus near the junction with Tudor Road.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

And later yesterday a car overturned on Bawtry Road at the junction with Hurst Lane, towards Finningley, at around 3.30pm.

Two cars were involved in the collision and a man was treated for cuts and bruises following the incident that closed part of Bawtry Road.

Meanwhile Firefighters rescued a woman in her 60s and a teenage girl following a two-car collision on Alexandra Road, Moorends, at around 7pm on Sunday.
