The Links4Youth activity group, based on Highwoods in Mexborough, holds drop-in sessions four nights weekly and provides free after-school activities for children living on disadvantaged estates.

The group also produce an annual June charity dance show, with over 40 children, to raise cash for local cancer charity Aurora Wellbeing Centre.

Regeneration specialist Keepmoat and Mexborough Community Partnership donated a new boiler and £500 funding respectively, to allow the centre to stay open later.

Jill Arkley-Jevons, Links4Youth Project Co-ordinator, said: “The boiler at the base kept breaking down, meaning we had to close early. Due to the community centre being run entirely by volunteers, we did not have sufficient funding for a new one. We’re very grateful for the donations.”
