Shout-out for artists to join music event in Epworth

The streets of Epworth are expected to throng to the sound of music with announcement of this year's town music day.

This year the entertainment extravaganza falls on Saturday June 18 and will include the usual mix of music and other street entertainers.

Co-organiser, Peter Barnard, who also helped to organise last year’s successful event, said the group was starting to put the plan together to make it as much as a success as it was in 2015.

He added: “Once again we will be putting together a daytime programme across 10 outdoor stages – with indoor alternatives if it is wet – and then an evening concert.

“Last June we attracted more than 50 different groups of performers across a wide range of musical genres and we hope to be able to provide a platform for a similar array of musical talent in 2016. We already have had expressions of interest from 20 groups who want to play.
