Former South Axholme School pupil Sheridan, aged 36, whose mum Marilyn still lives in Station Road, Epworth, sent a message to her 645,000 thousand followers last week to give them the news.

The talented actress released the album, which is called ‘Sheridan’, on Friday after signing a deal with East West Records.

She said: “It has been an ambition since a child to record my own album.”

East West’s president Dan Chalmers said: “We’re very excited to work with Sheridan. I’ve admired her for many years.”

The album has twelve songs on it, including ‘Crazy’, ‘Anyone Who Had a Heart’ and ‘Superstar’.

Multi-talented Sheridan has previously starred in ITV shows including Cilla - for which she won a BAFTA TV Award.

The tour will take place in April next year. Four dates have been announced, including one at London’s Royal Albert Hall and The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.

Sheridan, who became an OBE in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to drama, first came to prominence on television for her roles in comedy shows Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Love Soup, Gavin & Stacey, Grownups and Benidorm.

She went on to star in television dramas like Mrs Biggs, for which she won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for playing Ronnie Biggs’ wife, and earlier this year she starred in the BBC’s The Moorside, about the disappearance of girl Shannon Matthews.

The album and tour comes just after Sheridan appeared in her first headline show for ITV.
