Sheridan boosts Isle’s new charity night

Actress Sheridan Smith sports the t-shirt for the newest Isle charity!

TeamVerrico launches officially this weekend with a glittering ball and famous faces at the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.

And a pair of tickets are still up for grabs....by auction.

Epworth man Paul Verrico, who lost wife Anna to breast cancer at the end of last year, said: “The support has been unbelievable. This is the best possible way for us to commemorate Anna’s legacy - to share a meal, a glass of wine and to listen to some of her favourite musicians live while raising money to fulfil the charity’s purposes.”

Musician Tom Kimmel and actor Hugo Speers are two names involved with the charity, that is also linked closely to Scunthorpe United.

Paul added: “Sheridan Smith extended her support to the ball. Social media has gone mad as she modelled her TeamVerrico t-shirt while promoting the event.”

The youngest performer on Saturday will be accomplished and up-and-coming musician Sam Young of Doncaster. Auction and grand raffle prizes include a trip to the House of Commons with Karl Turner MP and a garden redesign by a firm of landscape architects.

Lawyer Phil Crosbie who will host the event said: “I do not think we could have envisaged a better night to come. I have been inspired by all those who have had an input. The idea is that we raise lots of money but that the event is also enjoyable for all.”
