The man has been named as Trevor Moxam, 51, of Sheffield.
A vehicle, believed to be a digger, plunged into the water. A search and rescue operation was launched and Mr Moxam’s body was recovered.
Further tests are awaited following his death, and the inquest has been adjourned to a later date.
