Shark causes a stir at Sheffield primary school
Young basketball players received top tuition when Sheffield Sharks player Mike Turk called by.
The Shark was at Woodseats Primary School to present medals to Y4 basketballers who were runners-up in a South Yorkshire schools’ tournament. The team also played during the break of a Sheffield Sharks BBL play-off semi-final at the Institute of Sport.
School staff member Helen Morris said: “We had a brilliant visit from Mike Turk. He spoke during a special assembly and brought the fantastic trophy that the Sharks won in the BBL final in London.” Pupils were delighted when the sports star then joined some of them of a basketball game outside and posed for photographs.
