Stagecoach Yorkshire will introduce a new timetable from Sunday, September 4, with a number routes either being cut, adjusted or replaced.

A spokesperson for the bus operator said: “A new timetable will be introduced on service X19 Barnsley to Doncaster. We regret that the section of the route between Doncaster and Robin Hood Airport will be withdrawn following the loss of a South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive tender and replaced by a new service X4 provided by First. Some evening journeys between Barnsley and Doncaster will also be withdrawn following the withdrawal of financial support by SYPTE.”

In addition, services 1 Barnsley to Staincross, 6 Barnsley to Kendray and 11 Barnsley to Athersley North will revert back to normal timetables following the school holidays and run up to every 10 minutes.

Minor timetable changes to ‘improve punctuality’ will also be made to services 8/8a Barnsley to Worsbrough Dale, as well as to early evening timings for Service 12 Barnsley to Athersley South. Service 22x Barnsley to Rotherham will see minor changes to afternoon peak times between Wath and Rotherham to ‘improve coordination’ with First services 22a and 22c.
