Selfless schoolkids help Sheffield homeless

Students have been working alongside Cathedral Archer Project to help those in need this Christmas.

The school has already raised Â£600 through fundraising events such as Mario Kart tournament and non-school uniform days.

Megan Spotswood, deputy head girl, said: “We came across it (Cathedral Archer Project) when I became this summer really aware of people’s negative attitudes towards homeless people. The way they treated homeless people, I could feel deep inside something had to be done.”

Cathedral Archer Project helps homeless people get on back on their feet, offering vital services such as one-to-one support, vital medicines and more.

Danny Magill, who works in the fundraising department of the charity, said: “From our point of view, we think it’s great to see such young people supporting charities and engaging with difficult, complicated issues such as homelessness.”
