Schoolboy, 12, has jaw broken in unprovoked Rotherham attack

A 12-year-old boy had his jaw broken in Rotherham in an unprovoked attack as he made his way home from school.

The child, who attends Saint Bernard’s Catholic College, was attacked around 4pm on Wednesday, September 16.

Two 15-year-old boys are being interviewed about the incident today by police.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “It was reported that two boys, one on a bike and one on foot, assaulted a 12-year-old boy on Herringthorpe Valley Road in an unprovoked attack.

“As a result of the assault, the 12-year-old was taken to hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw.”
