Pupils' tributes at Ash Hill Academy for Thomas and Ashley Isle, who died in a car crash in Dunsville

Tributes have been left outside a Doncaster school in memory of two teenage brothers who died following a car crash.

Thomas Isle, aged 18, was a former student at Ash Hill Academy, while Ashley Isle, 13, was a Year 9 pupil.

A tribute from one of Ashley’s classmates said: “Tom, I didn’t really know you, but if you were anything like Ash then you must have been amazing. Ash, take care of each other up there. I won’t ever forget you. Can’t believe you both went so soon. Why does God always take the best ones?”

Photos of both teenagers were left outside the school, in Hatfield, along with flowers and candles.

The two brothers, of Armthorpe, were travelling in a red Seat Ibiza when it crashed on the A18 High Street, close to Wyndthorpe Hall, near Dunsville, at around 6.40pm on Saturday, November 7.

Thomas, who was driving the car, died at the scene, and Ashley died two days later in Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Pupils and staff raised £1,550 in memory of the brothers for the hospital by wearing blue – said to be Ashley’s favourite colour – on Friday, November 13.

Another tribute read: “RIP Tom and Ash, gone but never forgotten.

“Sadly missed by many people, party hard up there. You didn’t deserve to go this early.”

A typed note pinned to the wall said: “Ash, I can’t believe you’re gone. You were one of the loveliest kids in the world. You were a brother to us all and would have our backs, whenever, wherever.

“I just want to hear your voice one more time. It’s so hard to live without you. I just want you back here with us all. I love you so much.”

Headteacher David Williams said: “Thomas was well-liked by the pupils and the staff and was extremely popular.

“Ashley was a lovely young man who was also well-liked. He was a member of the academy rugby team.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to their family and friends at this difficult time.”

Sarah Jepson said: “RIP boys.

“Thoughts are with their family at this very sad time.

“My daughter is 18 and she sometimes drives her little brother around, can’t begin to imagine the pain.”

Christina Barber-Callender said: “So desperately sad. Two lovely lads.

“RIP Tom and Ash. Sincere condolences to their dad and family.”
