OLYMPIAN Sarah Stevenson MBE will be making strides towards raising funds for a hospice who cared for her terminally ill mum, by completing a charity walk.

The 29-year-old tae kwon do ace from Bentley suffered a devastating double blow last year when her father Roy died from a brain tumour in July and her mother Diana lost her battle with cancer three months later.

St John’s Hospice, in Tickhill Lane, cared for Sarah’s mum in her final days and as a thank you Doncaster’s four-time Olympian and 2008 Beijing Games bronze medallist, her family and friends will be walking from her family home in Ayton Walk, Bentley, all the way to the Balby centre.

The group, nicknamed ‘#TeamSarah’, will be setting off on Saturday for the five mile journey.
