Santa Claus is coming to parts of the Isle near you

FATHER Christmas will be extra busy in the run up to Christmas as he makes his way around the Isle of Axholme on his charity sleigh.

The Lions festive float will make 20 calls across the Isle from this Saturday, right up to Friday, December 21.

Terry Condliff from the Isle of Axholme Lions said: “Every year we raise between £6,000 and £7,000 for various charities. Father Christmas devotes all his time to us for this very special event.”

From 4pm on Saturday, Father Christmas will be visiting Burnham Road, Epworth, Low Burnham and Wroot, and at 4pm on Sunday, he will be at Owston and Gunthorpe.

From then on: Monday, December 3, at 5.30pm, the sleigh will be at Belton and West Butterwick; Tuesday, December 4, from 5.30pm Father Christmas will be in Ferry Road and the Lockwood Bank area, Epworth; Wednesday, December 5, from 5.30pm the area around Belton Church and High Street; Thursday, December 6, from 5.30pm, Eastoft and Crowle Top End, Newbigg Slack Cross Street area.

On Friday, December 7, from 6pm he will be at the Epworth Christmas lights switch on followed by the Westwoodside Christmas lights switch on the following day, December 8, from 4pm at Luddington, Amcotts, Fockerby and Garthorpe;

Sunday, December 9, from 4pm the A161 area for East Lound Christmas lights.
