Revealed: Doncaster's best performing schools for GCSEs

Government secondary school league tables today reveal Doncaster's top scoring schools and show a slight year on year improvement in the borough's performance in GCSEs.

The statistics, released this morning, show The Hayfield School, at Auckley, to be the best performing state school in Doncaster, with 76 per cent of its pupils passing five or more GCSEs including English and maths at grade C or above.

In the borough as a whole, 50 per cent of pupils obtained five or more GCSEs at a grade of C or above including English and maths, compared to 49.4 per cent in 2014. But the figure is down on the 2013 figure of 56.6 per cent
