Demolition firm DSR Demolition Ltd carried out the demolition of the Council House, which were Doncaster Council’s main offices until the new Civic Buildings were opened.

The building was previously the headquarters of the National Coal Board and was the scene of several clashes between pickets and police during the 1984-85 Miners' Strike.
