Residents have their say on Government plans

views of Dearne residents who had their say on the future of care in the UK as part of the Government’s ‘Caring for our Future’ national consultation have been handed over.

Following the collation of the feedback from people who use care and support services, views on current provision and recommendations for improving care and support have now been sent to The Department of Health by Doncaster Council..

Councillor Patricia Schofield, Doncaster Council’s cabinet member for adults and health, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part by submitting comments online or attending our ‘Caring for our future’ events last month.”

The feedback that has been collected will be used to help the Government understand the immediate and longer-term priorities for social care reform and help them decide what to do.

The Government will then publish a White Paper in April 2012, alongside a progress report on funding reform.

The White Paper will set out their approach to reform, the priorities for action, and the things they will do in the coming months and years to start the process of transforming the care and support system.

Further updates will be published by The Department for Health on as soon as they’re available.
