Post-war Ealand forms the subject of our trip down memory lane this week.

The snap was the latest in batch of post-war era pictures sent into us by Angus Townley, 50, of Crowle, who is a member of Crowle and Ealand Heritage Society.

He said: “It shows The New Trent Hotel – then run by the Barnsley Brewery Company.

“Although Wharf Road was then the main road to Crowle it looks very quiet.”

The picture is one of the latest to be uploaded to the Crowle Community Hub website, which features numerous old pictures of the town, from aerial pictures to people and pubs.

Mr Townley added: “Contributions from site visitors are actively encouraged.

“The site has been designed so that you can submit your own contributions directly to the site.

“I am always looking for additional help in running the site.

“If you would like to assist please feel free to contact me.

“If you have any trouble you can email your contribution to me at”
