Re-opening date announced for popular Doncaster pub devastated by flooding

The Boat Inn at Sprotbrough was wrecked when last autumn’s floods devastated huge parts of Doncaster and has been closed ever since while repairs have been carried out.
But now pub bosses have announced that the popular riverside venue is set to set sail once more.

Hide AdAnnouncing its return on Facebook, a post said: “Almost a year on since we sadly closed our doors due to flooding, we are now finally almost ready to reopen.
“The official date is the 4th November and we cannot wait to invite you all back in.
“The team are busy working hard training in preparation for opening. There will be many returning team members so there will be lots of familiar faces, and a few new ones too.
“We will be of course be operating in a Covid safe environment as per government guidelines so please feel reassured you will be in safe hands.

Hide Ad“It has been such a rollercoaster year, so challenging for everyone, and yet there has been so many of you lovely people constantly checking in and sending messages of support and well wishes. It has been greatly appreciated, thank you all.”
The riverside setting for the pub has made it one of Doncaster’s most popular spots for dining and drinking, with visitors coming from miles around to the venue on Nursery Lane.
The pub was badly damaged during last November’s floods which caused widespread damage across Doncaster.
