'Pupil' taken to hospital after rush hour collision with car outside Doncaster school

A person believed to be a pupil at a Doncaster secondary school has been taken to hospital after a rush hour collision with a car this morning.

Emergency services were called to Hungerhill School in Edenthorpe this morning following reports of collision between a pedestrian and a car.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: ““We received a call at 9:12am this morning making us aware of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car on Hungerhill Lane in Edenthorpe.

“The incident is believed to have happened around 8:30am.

“The pedestrian was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.”

There have been unconfirmed reports that the person involved in the incident was a female pupil at the Edenthorpe school with the incident taking place near to the crossing on Thorne Road outside the school gates. It is understood they were not seriously injured.
