A probe is underway today into a house fire in Doncaster which left one person dead.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on Church Road, Denaby, at 7.11pm last night and found the smoke-logged house involved engulfed in flames.
Six firefighters wearing specialist breathing apparatus searched the property and found a man, aged in his 60s, unconscious upstairs.
They carried him outside, where he was given emergency first aid by firefighters and paramedics before he was taken to hospital by ambulance.
He could not be revived and was later pronounced dead.
The fire is believed to have started downstairs.
A joint fire and police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze has been launched.
