Lindsey Lodge Hospice has revealed it raised over £21,400 in its Christmas Superdraw, thanks to the support of local people who bought tickets for just £1 each.

Based on Burringham Road, Scunthorpe, the 25-year-old hospice is run as an independent charity to provide specialist palliative care for patients with life limiting illnesses from North Lincolnshire.

It receives only 24 per cent of its funding from the NHS for its annual running costs, and relies on fundraising and donations to raise the £3.3 million it needs each year to continue to deliver its care in North Lincolnshire.

Lindsey Lodge Hospice Supporter Relations Co-ordinator Peter Dennis said: “Congratulations to all our winners. A massive thank you to everyone who bought tickets and to our first prize sponsor Jotun Paints.

“We’re also extremely grateful to everyone who helped us sell tickets. The team at our Epworth shop were our biggest retail sellers, and they managed to sell the winning ticket – so it’s been a very lucky Superdraw for the Isle of Axholme!”

There were three winning tickets announced in the big draw, with lucky winner Monica Hind of Epworth clinching the top prize of £2,018 donated by Jotun Paints. Second prize winner of £250 was Ivan Birtwisle of Brigg, and third prize winner was Denise Gleadhill of Scunthorpe, who received £100.
