Daisies were the flowers chosen by youngsters at Westwoodside C of E Primary School to display and reflect their five core Christian school values.

A striking floral display now adorns the main entrance to the school, put together by pupils from three-year olds in Nursery to Year Six pupils aged 11.

A variety of collage materials were used to produce the flowers and respect the core values of Respect, Honesty, friendship, Love and Compassion.

Staff spokeswoman Helen Spowage said: “We wanted to create an inspiring entrance display and decided on a daisy theme. The fact that if Jesus is thought of as a flower he is depicted as a daisy confirmed our decision.

“These very unique daisies were then put together to make one very, very long daisy chain which stretches around the entrance display and beyond!

“Many visitors have already commented on this fabulous welcome to our school and everyone has found their own special daisy in the display!” (Photos: Marie Caley)
