Unbeaten in their last 12 league and cup games, Knights go into the final pool match in the driving seat, four points clear of the Islanders and boasting a better points difference.

Not only would Jersey have to pick up a bonus point win to prevent Knights claiming top spot for the second season in succession, they would have to deny them a point.

Despite the fact that Knights are unbeaten at home since the opening day of the season, director of rugby Clive Griffiths is taking nothing for granted. He knows side had to work hard for their 31-23 league win at Castle Park in September and the last two games between the two sides at St Peter ended in draws.

“We know it’s going to be a tough forward battle and the likes of Richard List, Colin Quigley and Matt Challinor will all come back in,” said Griffiths.

No 8 Ollie Stedman will alsio come into contention after recovering from a head injury in the last game between the two sides and the likes of Dougie Flockhart and Tyson Lewis are also expected to feature.

“As I said, we are expecting a tough game but we are at home and we are unbeaten in the pool stages for the last two seasons,” said Griffiths.

“If they come to Castle Park and score four tries or more and deny us a point then they’ll deserve to finish top of the pool.”
