THE next generation of dinosaur enthusiasts tried their hands at searching for fossils at Doncaster museum.
Grace and Adam Fleming, aged six and 10, were among a group of youngsters who signed up for a day learning about the prehistoric beasts at a themed fun day at the venue on Chequer Road.
Entitled Rock On, the event offered youngsters the chance to bring in their own fossils to be identified.
But there were also opportunities to play dinosaur themed games, make prehistoric puppets, and dig for model fossils hidden in sand trays.
Doncaster museum has a collection of fossils on permanent display, and those taking part also had the chance to look at those in the building.
Some of the fossils at the museum are on loan from 21-year-old Dean Lomax, from Balby, who recently published his first book, called Fossils on the Whitby Coast.
It is believed to be the first book of its kind concentrating specifically on the Whitby area.
