Ronan Keating, Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik are among the music industry stars who have passed on messages of condolence to Doncaster's Louis Tomlinson, since news of his mother's death broke yesterday.
Doncaster mum and former midwife Johannah Deakin died on Wednesday morning after suffering from leukaemia.
The mother-of-seven had been cared for at University College London hospital since May before being moved to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield for the last few weeks of her life.
Stars from across the music industry have sent messages of condolence to Tomlinson including singer Cheryl, who is in a relationship with his One Direction band mate, Liam Payne.
She wrote: "@Louis_Tomlinson my heart breaks for you. I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you and your loved ones at this incredibly tragic time."
In an emotional post on Instagram Liam Payne said: “Louis, I’m so sorry for you my brother.
“My heart aches for you, just know I love you the same from a million miles away as I do right next to you.
“I’ve always been here for you through everything as you have been for me.
“My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at thus incredibly sad time – I can’t begin to imagine what you are going through.
“RIP Johannah you are forever in my thoughts.”
Simon Cowell wrote: "Heartbroken for you @Louis_Tomlinson. Your mum Jay was an incredible person. Sending you all my love."
The Wanted's Nathan Sykes wrote: "Thoughts are with @Louis_Tomlinson today. Heartbreaking news."
Former Boyzone star Ronan Keating posted on Twitter: " My Heart goes out to Louis Tomlinson and his family at this time. Heartbreaking."
Ex-One Direction star Zayn Malik said Tomlinson's family were "in my prayers".
He posted on Twitter: "@Louis_Tomlinson love you bro! All of your family is in my prayers. proud of your strength and know your mum is too x."
In a 2012 interview, Tomlinson said he and his mother were "best friends".
She was born Johannah Poulston on March 25, 1973.
In 1991, aged 18, she and first husband Troy Austin welcomed the future pop singer into the world.
After the pair divorced when he was a toddler, she married Mark Tomlinson.
The couple had four children but split up as One Direction found X Factor fame.
Two years ago, she married Mr Deakin and gave birth to a second set of twins.
She became a grandmother for the first time in January when Tomlinson's son Freddie Reign was born to Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth.
