“Due diligence is a process that involves investigating and exercising care before entering into an agreement or contract.

“For local authorities, due diligence can help ensure that all stakeholders understand the relevant information before making decisions.

“The purpose of due diligence is to mitigate risks, ensure legal compliance, and contribute to effective decision-making.

“In the context of local authorities, due diligence can be important for understanding the financial, governance, subsidy control, and partner risks of a publicly funded transactions and identifying and mitigating the risk of being compromised by questionable investors.

“Due diligence is implemented to cut down on unpleasant surprises and reduces the. chance that business practices of a service provider or grant recipient reflect poorly on the Council.

“So please be patient. And as my dear mum used to say "if you've nothing nice to say please don't say anything!"

He added: “While we are waiting for news or an announcement, please sign the petition.

“This petition alone will not get our airspace reinstated, however working together along with City of Doncaster Council, the region’s Chambers of Commerce, the local business community, MPs, Transport for the North and business institutions we can make a difference

“Mayor Ros Jones has said its imperative that we sign the petition.

“All of the above are working together, lobbying Government, the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority to get our airspace reinstated.”
