The energy firm is alleged to have failed to pay up to £80 million as part of a cashback warranty scheme.

More than 2,000 of Andrew Percy’s constituents are affected by the alleged mis-selling of financial products.

He said: “There are 2,084 people from my Isle and Brigg constituency who are still owed money as part of Scottish Power’s cash back promise.

“We are talking about a huge £80 million that is still owed nationally, plus there is interest to 625,000 people. We have established a group in Parliament that intends to investigate this issue and I will be doing all I can to ensure residents get their money back.”
