The Enterprise Centre/Treeton Youth Centre on Church Lane has been vacant since the council agreed to cut the Rotherham Youth Enterprise service in 2018.

Originally built in circa 1887 as an infant school, the building currently includes five workshops, five offices, a large hall and outside space.

Plans have now been lodged to convert the existing buildings into 14 apartments, along with 18 parking spaces.

If approved, the conversion will provide 11 one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments.

The existing car park areas to the front of each of the buildings will be retained as car parking spaces, with an added disabled space.

Provision is also made in the plans for a cycle store in the lower ground floor area.

A public consultation will run until May 15.
