Kind-hearted Doncaster residents are being urged not to give money to homeless people in the town - after a man who claims to live on the streets was found with drugs ready to sell.
During a search of a man who claims to be homeless, officers in Doncaster town centre found him carrying a number of individually wrapped drug deals this morning.
South Yorkshire Police said the man is not homeless and urged people to donate to charities which help those in need.
A spokesman said: "We are doing our best to take the drugs off our streets and protect the vulnerable. Give your change to charity, not to the drug dealers."
