Police appeal for witnesses after lorry driver dies in fatal crash on South Yorkshire motorway

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash on a South Yorkshire motorway claimed the life of a lorry driver.

Officers want any witnesses or motorists who have dashcam footage to contact them, following the collision which took place today (Friday, September 25) on the M180 in Doncaster.

At around 7.40am, it is reported that a blue Volvo articulated lorry was travelling along the M180 westbound between junctions 2 and 1, when it is understood to have left the carriageway and collided with the crash barrier on the hard shoulder.

The driver of the lorry, a 46-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was travelling along the M180 this morning, particularly motorists with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
