A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire Service said the residents were all out of the property when they arrived, and no one was hurt in the blaze.

They had sent two fire engines from Doncaster and one from Adwick initially.

They used a hose and a set of breathing apparatus to put the fire out.

The spokesman was unable to confirm the cause of the fire and added police were assisting in the investigation.

South Yorkshire Police have been approached for comment.
