Polar bear adopted to raise cash for sick children

This is '˜Moonlight' one of twelve Wish-upon-a-Star Polar Bears who have been adopted with the aim of trying to raise over £1500 each for the charity.

‘Moonlight’ was adopted by Charlotte Rylatt from Messingham and he was guest of honour at this years Annual Village Ball held in Belton.

A great night was had by all who attended and enjoyed a Summer carvery supplied by Sandra Bishop plus a disco and tribute show by local entertainers who performed their tributes to Karen Carpenter and Neil Dimond, On the night £568 was raised for the charity that makes sick and very ill children’s dreams come true.

A spokesperson for the Belton Playing Field Association, who put on regular Saturday Nights at the Pavilion events, said “When we heard about ‘Moonlight’ and his efforts to raise money for Wish-upon-a-Star we decided to invite him as our guest of honour to our Annual Village Ball. We were absolutely blown away by people’s generosity on the night with ‘Moonlight’ heading home with the £568”.
