Poilce seek information about white van following Hexthorpe stabbing

The occupants of a white van spotted near the scene of an alleged stabbing in Hexthorpe could hold vital clues, police have said.

Police in Doncaster are asking anyone who recognises the white van in this CCTV image to come forward - as they may hold vital information about the alleged assault in Glen Field Avenue, Hexthorpe this week.

At around 7.15am on Tuesday 9 August, police were called following reports a 35-year-old man had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds where he remains in a stable condition.

A white van is believed to have been parked on Glen Field Avenue for around ten minutes at the time of the reported assault. Officers believe the occupants of the van may have witnessed the incident and are appealing for them to get in touch.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Zigmund Ciemens, of no fixed address, appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Crown Court at a later date.
