Player ratings from Doncaster Rovers' defeat to Oxford United
Paul Goodwin gives his verdict on Doncaster Rovers' 1-0 defeat to Oxford United.
MARKO MAROSI 5
Might have done more to keep out Henry’s matchwinning header - which went in at the near post.
CRAIG ALCOCK 5
First appearance since February 24 and, at times, looked very ring rusty.
MATHIEU BAUDRY 6
Walked a tightrope following his early booking but stood up to physical presence of Thomas and Obika.
ANDY BUTLER 7
Typically no-nonsense display from one of Rovers’ most consistent performers this season.
NIALL MASON 7
A decent enough display at left back, which is not his preferred position. Took some useful dead balls.
LUKE MCCULLOUGH 6
Hit and miss. Did some good things but occasionally wanted too much time on the ball.
MATTY BLAIR 6
Moved back into midfield but his marauding runs were limited and he missed a glorious second half chance.
RODNEY KONGOLO 5
Gave the side a bit of freshness but did not look comfortable on the left of the diamond.
BEN WHITEMAN 7
Showed his versatility by playing at the tip of the diamond. Passed the ball better than his midfield colleagues.
ALFIE MAY 6
Created a good opening for himself in the first half, worked hard, but was kept mainly on the fringe of the game.
JOHN MARQUIS 7
Star man yet again, leading the line effectively and linking up play. Will be disappointed not to have headed home Mason’s free-kick.
JORDAN HOUGHTON 6
Used possession intelligently and had a good case for a penalty when he was shoved.
ANDY WILLIAMS 6
Showed one or two nice touches.
ALEX KIWOMYA n/a
Not enough time for him to get into the game.
