Planners back rebuild for fire hit Doncaster school

PLANNING permission has been granted to rebuild fire-ravaged Campsmount Technology College.

Doncaster Council’s planning committee approved plans for new buildings on the site in Ryecroft Road, Norton, where 60 per cent of the former school was damaged in December 2009.

Building work on the £10 million scheme will start in a matter of weeks.

The school has been in temporary accommodation since March last year.

Headteacher Andrew Sprakes said: “We are thrilled to have come so far in such a short period of time. This is down to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved in the project.

“Students are very excited about the start of the new building work which will provide us with the 21st century learning environment our community deserves.”
