A pint-sized cheerleader has lofty ambitions after reaching the finals of the Miss England Yorkshire Beauty Awards.
Keira Ensell-Brennan, of Askern, in Doncaster, claims to be the shortest finalist in this year's pageant, and, at a petite 4ft11ins, possibly the shortest ever.
The 16-year-old hopes her success will prove you don't have to be a leggy, Amazonian-style beauty to impress on the catwalk.
"It's the first beauty pageant I've entered, and I cried when I found out I'd made the final," she said.
"You don't see many short models so this means a lot. It would be a dream to win."
Keira is a cheerleader for Doncaster Knights RFC and is studying aviation at Doncaster College with a view to becoming a flight attendant.
Her proud mum Tina Brennan said: "She's an inspiring young lady. She's only 4ft11ins and 16 but she's got a lot of courage and get-up-and-go. What she's achieved sends a positive message to other young people to dare to try."
Should Keira make it through the regional finals later this month, earning herself a place in the national Miss England contest, she would not be the first diminutive contestant to triumph at a beauty pageant. Carole Joan Crawford was just 5ft3ins when she won Miss World in 1963.
Keira is one of 18 contestants in the Yorkshire regional finals of Miss England, the winner of which will be announced on Sunday, May 21 in Leeds.
* Public voting will play a part in the decision, and you can cast your vote for Keira now by texting 'MISS YORKSHIRE12' to 633 33. Texts cost 50p plus your standard network rate, and voting will close on Sunday, May 21, at 6pm.
