Police have arrested a man after people were left ‘fearing for their safety’ by a person wearing a mask in Doncaster.
Officers received ‘numerous’ reports yesterday that a person in a mask was frightening people in the town, leading many to speculate whether it is the Doncaster Klown.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A spokesman for Doncaster Central Police Team said today: “Numerous reports were received yesterday regarding a person in a mask leaving members of the public fearing for their safety.
“A male has been arrested this morning in relation to those incidents and associated public order offences. Enquiries are currently ongoing.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
The original Doncaster Clown was a harmless prank. But in recent weeks a sinister copycat – dubbed the Doncaster Klown – has been causing trouble.
