Sophie Wright was due to spend the Christmas period this year working on the Polar Express in Wensleydale but Covid-19 has meant that the festive event has been cancelled.
She wanted to do something to make Christmas a little bit special for kids who may be stuck inside this year.

Hide AdSophie also has the option to video call an actor playing Santa.
“Kids might be confused as to why they’re not allowed to visit a grotto and do the things they usually do at Christmas,” she continued.
“Parents can use the video call with Santa to get him to explain it to them in a simple way.

Sophie is a full time performer but has not been able to do the job she loved during the pandemic.
She said: “I had to shut down my mermaid party business and I don’t have experience in other fields to get a temporary job in something like retail.
“It’s been really hard for performers these last seven months and it’s made me quite down hearted.”
