Tributes as well-known and popular Doncaster GP retires

A well-known and popular Doncaster doctor has written her last prescription after announcing her retirement.

Dr Anne Forbes, a GP at Doncaster's Kingthorne Group Practice, has stepped down after decades of caring for patients.

A spokesman for the surgery said: “For those of you who don't know yesterday was a difficult day for TeamK, we said a fond farewell to our wonderful Dr Forbes as she begins her retirement.

“Anne has for many years provided contraception services, fitting hundreds of coils and implants. Her other great interests and specialisms have ranged from chronic condition management, to taking the lead for diabetes, resulting in many significant improvements in patients’ managing the disease.

Colleague Dr Martin Coleman said: “Anne will be remembered for many different reasons by patients, colleagues and friends alike.

“Over the years, Anne has become a beacon for hard work, conscientiousness and probity; she’s always been ready to help in terms of demand; her determination and dedication to provide services in uncertain times has shone through.

“On behalf of all colleagues at Kingthorne Practice, I wish Anne all the very best for a long, happy and active retirement.”

Out of work, Anne has always been a keen walker and enjoys the outdoors keeping active.

“From all of us at TeamKT we wish Anne a very happy and active retirement. We will miss her so very much, she loved and cared for every member of the team as well as all of her patients.”
