Tributes as former pub landlord loses Covid-19 battle in Doncaster

Tributes have been paid to a former pub landlord who has died from Covid in Doncaster.

Charles Straw, known as Chuck, died on October 21 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, an obituary said.

Mr Straw, 79, had previously been an ex-publican in Hackney, London, it said.

“Charles Arthur Straw lost his fight against Covid at DRI, Doncaster,” the obituary said.

"He has gone to join his wife June, who predeceases him by 26 years.

"He leaves behind his sisters Nina and Jen, and his daughters Janine and Lorraine, also his grandchildren Michael, Bryan, Stephen, Benjamin, Ilana and Sienna, and his great-grandchild Elizabeth.“Gone but not forgotten.”The funeral service will take place at Rose Hill Crematorium tomorrow from 2pm.Wake to take place at Table Table, Premier Inn, Doncaster.Instead of flowers, please make a donation to the British Heart Foundation in his name.
